Where are we now?

What is the current situation of the club?

Mole Valley runners is an England Athletics affiliated running club, led by a team of enthusiastic volunteer committee members, supported by a team of volunteer run leaders. We currently offer regular club runs on Monday morning, Tuesday evening, Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. The runs cater for all running abilities. We have 17 leaders offering regular commitment to runs. We currently have 157 club members, with 101 of these being EA first claim members. We have 56 recreational runners who are either unafilliated or affiliated elsewhere. We have a large facebook community group of over 800 members, and a members only group of 125 members. The member's group is where we share more specific club information, and buddy runs, and the community page is somewhere people can find us, and also a place to share information at a wider level. We have an Instagram page with over 850 followers.

Consider:

  • what you offer to members, players and participants
  • membership numbers and whether these are on the up, in decline or steady
  • your volunteers and paid workforce resources, their numbers and skill sets
  • your facilities
  • your financial situation
  • who you work with

Where do we want to be?

Club Vision:

Mole Valley Runners will continue to be an inclusive club, catering for the needs of different runners. This will be achieved through a progressive programme that provides recreational and social opportunities for all ages and abilities, promoting diversity and inclusion. The club aims to retain the current membership, and run leaders, and gain more volunteers, whether as run leaders or committee support. Mole Valley Runners will continue to be a positive place where members share and celebrate achievements which cover a broad spectrum of distance and pace. Mole Valley Runners will continue to celebrate the volunteers who make the club a huge success.

Key goals for the next 3-5 years

  •  To continue to provide a positive social media space for members to share their achievements and cheer others.
  •  To train more run leaders
  •  To have more MVR run coaches (CiRF)
  • To ensure the volunteer team feel valued and supported so we can continue to offer our members a variety of club runs
  • To retain the current membership numbers, keeping a good balance of membership numbers, and runs we can offer

How will we get there?
